What are Runtime Errors?

Troubleshooting Runtime Errors

The following procedure is in order for resolving Runtime Errors:

1. Commence the procedure by closing the concerned program and hit the combination key “Ctrl+Alt+Delete”, whereby the “Windows Task Manager” shall be launched.
2. You may now select the “Processes” tab and click on the “Image Name” button.
3. Scroll through the processes list and ensure that the erring program is not running on the list. In case you find that the program is still being run, right-click on it and select the option “End Process”.
4. Now you may go to “Start” and select “Control Panel”.
5. As the Control Panel window opens up, choose the option “Programs and Features”.  
6. From the list of programs, you’re required to click on the one that has caused you a runtime error and select the option “Remove Program”. This will remove the program from your system.
7. Now go to “Start” and select “Search”.
8. In the search window, select “All Files and Folders”, type “Cleanmgr” in the searchbox and hit “Enter”.
9. As the Cleanup tool launches, you may select the option that reads “Files from all users”, followed by “Continue”.
10. Select the drive that contained the faulty program and choose “OK”.
11. After the cleaning process completes, you may reinstall the concerned program using its installation CD.
